The Wahl Groomsman beard trimmer is pretty good for what you're talking about. None of the trimmers are going to get you as close as a razor, but this comes closest. It's good for sculpting.

People say that I have the best mustache and even still say so after nearly 20 years of its growth. What they like most is the shape and size of it and many have asked me which barber is shaping it for me. It is me who shape my mustache and I do it using the normal razor ( not the twin blade) and the sissors . The hairs for the mustache can be equated to as rows and columns from the tip of the nose to the tip of the upper lip (row wise) and from left extreme of the mouth line to the right extreme of the mouthline. Using the razor I see that the height of the hair is evenly inclined from nose end to lip end and trim the bottom protruding hair that drops to mouth using the sissors. similarly I trim both the left and right extreme ends with sissors and shape the curve to left and right sides by lightly sliding the razor. Note the blade in the razor should not be very sharp and should preferably one that you have used for shaving so that you can avoid sharp cutting of the har. While using the razor use it lightly and slowly that the hair simply gets cut by dragging / pulling sensation rather than the feeling of cut we find in shaving. Do this slowly and you will be successful. Use three mirrors one in the front and two on its side to get the best possible results. All the best.
