What's the difference?

What is the difference between dog grooming clippers and human hair clippers? Can you use one on the other?

What's the difference?

Dog clippers are heavy duty clippers and stay cooler longer.Human clippers aren't strong as the dog clippers and usually won't cut a dogs coat.I have the Oster A-5 and the Andis clippers and find the Andis clipper to be the best as it stays cooler longer.

What's the difference?

I actually use sheep shears on dogs if I groom. The only difference is that livestock or canine shears are a bit more "heavy duty" than human shears. The blades last longer.

What's the difference?

You can, however from my experience the human ones motor isn't as strong and so suffers and gets hot when trying to get through thicker dog hair. Depends on your dogs coat , if its a thin coat then human ones will work but if its a thicker coat or a larger size dog (eg from cocker spaniel size up) then best to invest in animal clippers.
