I let my friend borrow my laptop two weeks ago. When I got it back, a part was broke off and the wireless adapter was bent, so I assumed he dropped it. While ago, I got my hair clippers back from him. They make a funny noise and will not cut at all. Now I have to go buy a new set of clippers. If he asks to borrow anything else, should I let him?

A simple "NO" from now on will suffice. He has demonstrated that he is not responsible for items that aren't his. He should have asked to repair your computer and replace the clippers. You don't have to explain, just tell him that you need it or what ever he wants to borrow, and he should get the point, because he knows what he did, and should have been up front with you.

Well first of all, you should confront him about the it first, especially about the laptop. Ask him about it and see what he says. It's not ok for someone to borrow things and return them to you without mentioning and trying to make up for the damage that they have caused...

Of course accidents happen to all of us, but he needs to recognize his mistake and make up for it, otherwise I wouldn't let him borrow again.
