I have a fair bit of body hair, including back hair that almost completely covers my back. There's a little on my shoulders too. It's not that thick really, but it's dark and very noticeable.
I don't think it looks good, of course. Hahaha. It's not completely terrible or anything. But I wonder if I will be laughed at about it.
I work taking care of disabled adults and tomorrow we're going swimming. Usually I don't swim, but now I know that I really should... and so I will.
I know it's kind of silly to be worrying about myself the way I do, but I can't help it.
I've thought about clipping my body hair (I have a hairy chest and a strip on my stomach too) with clippers or something.
Sometimes it gets itchy or warm.
What do you guys think the solution could be??
Does body hair matter? Should I be worrying at all?
I realize it may almost be compared to a girl going out without shaving her legs or something like that.

No. A man with body hair can wear a shirt or not, depending on his comfort. It others don't like it, then they can simply not look. It all depends on YOU! Do what makes YOU happy!

I would think you might want to take it off before you get into the shower. It seems to be popular to look bare and smooth but it is a lot of trouble for guys. I would leave waxing and hair removal to the girls and girly boys.

It's more accepted with guys than girls, if you're insecure you can get it waxed, whatever makes you feel better

It all depends. I personally do not like a hairy man, and back hair is an absolute no no. I suggest to have the back and shoulder hair waxed-and you can trim the rest with clippers. It look much more maintained this way.

Well I dont think its really "hott" but its not the grosest thing. If you really feel like you dont like it try waxing or something. Be proud at least you can grow hair, some guys can't.

dont worry about it so much! ive never had any problems with guys and hair chests....i know some guys that "prune" a little bit, but i always tell them dont shave it off...that looks horrible and is totally noticable.

Back and shoulder hair on men is not well accepted in American culture (it is in various European culture). But your going for work, and the disabled are the last people who are going to make fun of you having a little bit of extra hair, so don't worry about it for this trip.
But if you are sometime going to try and impress others, you can have a friend shave the undesirable areas with some clippers before you go.
Girls will not like to see it at a first glance of you, but once you settle into a longer relationship, you will learn that it is not that much of an issue (as long as you don't have a rug growing back there) except to girls that are really superficial themselves. And it's not like most girls shave their legs every day either, again, only the superficial one's.

You need to wax yoour back hair and your stomach hair. It's Kinda gross when you don't. But you don't need to wax your chest hair or your leg hair. Men are hairy and some are hairier than others like you have back hair and chest hair. Some men don't even have chest hair. It's good to be a little bit hairy. But not on your back or stomach.

omg! some women looooove body hair. okay maybe not back hair. that's the biggie. but you're seriously overreacting! me and my fiance are 20, but i can't wait til he grows some! i played all day in his chest hairs at the pool when i first met him hehe! but anyway, save the hassle, save the pain, and save YOURSELF from society!! no one should be "repulsive" about your hair!! if they are, then screw them, because they're probably "repulsive" to anything that has nothing to do with them! they have such huge problems, they wish to point out every little indifference about another person to make them feel better! but if it bothers you that much (which of course, you didn't jump into my advice), when you DO decide to go topless, just trim it with some scissors, so that it doesn't hurt, doesn't grow thicker, and there's still some there so you can get see NO ONE really cares!! (other than the ones you should be ignoring anyway) you're overreacting forreal! have fun tomorrow. HAVE FUN. DON'T STRESS about some hairs! my god! =)
