What should I do with my curly hair?

I work in a professional environment however my hair seems to let me down. it's just so curly and unmanageable. I will do my hair in the morning (it takes 5minutes to get it juuuuust right).... but by the afternoon the hair is a mess and i don't even touch it. The hair naturally springs back.

So should I just clip short, maintain it short and look smart or

should I just leave it undone - and make that my new look - and embrace the curl factor or should I just try and do it and expend every effort at home to restrain my hair.

I normally get a hair cut every 8-12 weeks to save money. I am wondering if a set of clippers might be a good investment. I would like to hear from other people who have a similar predicament.

I too have curly hair. I usually get a haircut once a month. #2 on the side and finger length on the top.

I would suggest not to cut your own hair. it can look worse than a shaggy haircut.

When I let my hair grow longer I usually tell them to trim around the ears and neck and I use a leave in conditioner from pantene and their hairspray and let the curls fall naturly.

Go to the same haircut place and ask for the same barber or stylist.

When you get the cut you like get someone to take good pics of it so you can show the barber.

Haircuts are not that expensive. I get a "high and tight" every 2 weeks because my hair grows so fast. The upside is you never have to comb it, or put anything in it.

Shorter looks more professional

Another great option.... shave your head completely. Then instead of paying a barber every so often, you can just lather up and shave it every day in the shower, etc.

also looks clean and professional

shorter is better, that's why the military does it that way !!

In a professional environment, curly hair is looked down upon, sadly. I think you should get a new job if you want embrace your curl factor and work somewhere that you can keep your hair long and curly. Otherwise a shorter style is in order to maintain a professional look, like a "caesar" I think a caesar haircut on guys looks hot.

couldn't you just get it straightened ( go but a straightener) , it looks waaaaaaayyyy more professional.

it totally depends on the level of professionalism in your work environment. some places simply do not accept "unkept hair." however, for personal life, todays's hairstyles are very forgiving and all about the casual, beachy look. in my opinion if your job allows the longer hair and you like it, let it rock. if not, you should definately invest in a good set of clippers. if you want, let a friend/family member practice cutting it so they can be your go to person for a free haircut, if they're willing to help save you money. my boyfriend had the same problem, and i was the one who cut his hair, now he's growing it out again and using gel (you can go light to maintain or heavy to sculpt).
